A wire fox terrier named King is America’s top dog after earning the title of best in show on Tuesday night in a Westminster Kennel Club dog show touched by eleventh-hour controversy.

The crowd at Madison Square Garden seemed almost taken aback when judge Peter Green revealed his choice over a pair of overwhelmingly popular favorites: a longhaired dachshund looking to break a centuries-spanning hoodoo and a charismatic Sussex spaniel back in the final ring for the second year in a row.

King the wire fox terrier named Westminster's Best in Show – as it happened

Maybe they shouldn’t have been: the outcome marked the 15th time a wire fox captured the highest prize at the country’s most prestigious dog show, more than any other breed by a wide margin. Scottish terriers have won eight times at the oldest continuously held sporting event in the United States after the Kentucky Derby.

The poised seven-year-old from Brazil, whose official champion’s name is Kingarthur Van Foliny Home, earned the crown over a field of five other group winners, among them a Havanese named Bono (named reserve best in show), a bouvier des Flandres named Baby Lars, a boxer named Wilma and the crowd-pleasing dachshund Burns and spaniel Bean.

The coronation was preceded by a spot of controversy as a seventh contender expected to compete for the big prize – Colton the schipperke, who won the toy group on Monday – was declared ineligible right before start of Tuesday’s night session over a conflict of interest: Green’s longtime partner has co-owned dogs with one of Colton’s co-owners.

Yet Colton’s best in breed and best in group wins remained intact and he was allowed to make a lap of honor with the final septet before he was excused from the ring.

The veteran handler Gabriel Rangel, who steered King to the title, was overcome with emotion in the immediate aftermath. He’s now steered three Westminster best in show winners – Sadie the Scottie in 2010 and Sky the wire fox in 2014 – one less than the all-time record of four shared by Green himself.

After Wednesday’s media blitz – a whirlwind itinerary that includes a visit to Fox & Friends, a photo op atop the Empire State Building, the traditional lunch at Sardi’s and a possible walk-on part in the Broadway musical Pretty Woman – he’ll at least temporarily resume life as a dog with owner Victor Malzoni Jr in Brazil.

Updated lineup for WWE title match at Elimination Chamber (image courtesy Twitter)

Bengaluru, February 13: Rumours hinted some changes in Elimination Chamber match card heading into last night's episode of Smackdown Live and that turned out to be true. These kind of last minute additions or alterations keeps the fans pumped for an upcoming pay-per-view event. WWE stored one such big change on the show for the weekend's WWE Championship match. However, this time around, it was a forced decision for the creative to make due to an injury.

As reported earlier by fightful.com, Mustafa Ali suffered the injury last week and was in no condition to compete at this Sunday's Elimination Chamber match. They further added that the condition in he is now will not allow him to be put inside the unforgiving steel structure. Hence, WWE.com confirmed that he is out of the match.

One of the members of The New Day was allowed to replace him and it turned out to be Kofi Kingston. After keeping the suspense intact, the veteran started the Gauntlet match on Smackdown Live to clarify that he will represent the former tag team champions at Elimination Chamber. He has experienced being at the top before in his career. So no wonder his mates chose him and made a wise decision.

As for Mustafa’s injury, it’s really a sad piece of news as we will not be able to see this young man compete inside the Elimination Chamber. There is no doubt that the former 205 Live roster member could have come up with some death-defying stunts inside the structure surrounded by tons of steel. But his injury could have worsened by doing so. Hence, he was pulled from the card.

Here’s more details on the injury which was actually sustained during last week’s match against Randy Orton on Smackdown, (courtesy fightful.com)

“Ali had been working through an injured tailbone that got hurt again at WWE’s Royal Rumble show. Last week on Smackdown live, Ali’s eye was swollen shut after sitting up into Randy Orton’s boot on the Garvin Stomp. We’re told that an injury was accelerated on Sunday night’s live event and that he’s likely not to be cleared for action all week long.”

This is how the full match card of Elimination Chamber 2019 look like now:

– Elimination Chamber Match For The WWE Championship: Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe vs. Kofi Kingston

– Elimination Chamber Match For Inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships: Nia Jax and Tamina vs. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville vs. The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan) vs. The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) vs. Bayley and Sasha Banks vs. Naomi and Carmella

– WWE RAW Women’s Championship Match: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Ruby Riott

– WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: Shane McMahon & The Miz (c) vs. The Usos

- WWE Intercontinental Championship Handicapped Match: Bobby Lashley (c) and Lio Rush vs. Finn Balor

- Singles Match: Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin

Students from Faridabad-based Manav Rachna Institute of Research and Studies have made the country proud by winning the Microsoft Imagine Cup Asia Regional Semifinals held in Sydney on Tuesday. The three-member team developed an automated anti-pollution and drug delivery mask and with this win, they are one step closer to the grand prize of $100,000 at the world championship finals in the US.

The innovative product, which is the need of the hour as environment problems around us skyrocket, was developed by Aakash Bhadana, Vasu Kaushik, and Bharat Sundal at Manav Rachna Research Innovation and Incubation Centre (MRIIC) under the guidance Umesh Dutta and team.

About the device innovated by the Faridabad students

1. The smart anti-pollution mask developed by the team is named Caeli’, which means air’ in Latin.

2. The automated anti-pollution and drug delivery mask is especially designed for asthmatic and chronic respiratory patients.

3. The device has a few breakthrough features and aims to make life easier for respiratory patients living in polluted areas like in north India and especially in the Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR).

How can the anti-pollution mask be used for bigger projects?

"At a time when air pollution is a big concern in various countries including India, we are collecting the real-time air pollution data that can be used by relevant stakeholders and the Indian government. They can integrate our application programme interfaces (APIs) into their projects and gain more insights," Aakash Bhadana from the Caeli’ team told IANS.

"Our aim is now to collaborate with right stakeholders and take the 'made in India' products (which also includes a pocket-sized nebulizer) to the market," said Bhadana.

More about the Microsoft Imagine Cup

1. Considered as the 'Olympics of Technology', Imagine Cup is a global annual competition sponsored and hosted by Microsoft.

2. More than 1.65 million students from over 190 countries have participated in the Microsoft Imagine Cup in the last 10 years.

3. There were three Indian teams among the 12 Asia finalists at the Microsoft Imagine Cup this year.

4. The other two teams were from Vellore Institute of Technology in Tamil Nadu, and RV College of Engineering in Bangalore.

5. The VIT team developed a device called 'Spot' which allows one to recognise packaged foods and check if it contains a certain ingredient or exhibits a certain character.

6. The team from RV College designed 'RVSAFE', a one-stop solution for effectively handling any kind of disaster -- natural or man-made.

Runners up in the Microsoft Imagine Cup Asia Semifinals

The first runner-up at the Asia semifinals was the Rail Nova China’ team that built a Rail Component Inspection Robot.

This inspection robot operates through automatic positioning and identifies various defects through multi-sensor fusion in order to understand when workers in a rail inspection project need to be replaced.

The second runner-up was USCAid’ from the Philippines who built the Aqua Check app.

This device uses Microsoft Azure's Custom Vision to allow anyone to analyse water contamination levels by taking a photo of a water sample through a microscope.

The first runners-up received $5,000 and the second runners-up $1,000.

The Manav Rachna team received $15,000 as winner and secured a spot in the world championship, to be able to win the grand prize of $100,000 at Microsoft's Redmond-based headquarters in May.

Melbourne UFC fighter Jim Crute has secured an opponent for UFC 234 in Melbourne in February. Picture: David CairdSource:News Corp Australia

Jim Crute had a “gut feeling” his camp for UFC 234 was about to be turned upside down.

And before the phone call had even come through, Crute knew his maiden fight on home soil was in jeopardy.

“I was talking to my old man and a few of my training partners and I said ‘I don’t know why, but I’ll be fighting someone else’,” Crute, 22, revealed.

“Two weeks later I get a phone call from (coach) Sam (Greco) and he said ‘do you want the good news or the bad news’ and I said ‘Ryan Spann pulled out’.

“He said ‘how’d you know?’ I said ‘I had a feeling’.”

But the disappointment quickly subsided for the Melbourne-based, Bendigo-raised light heavyweight when the UFC secured a new opponent, American Sam Alvey.

“He’s a bigger name,” Crute said.

“Everyone has a risk in this division, you can’t have an easy fight, but there is risk and reward.

“Sam has the same risk as anyone, but the reward for beating him is much higher than beating Ryan Spann.”

American Spann suffered a broken hand in training and was forced to withdraw.

Alvey (31-11-0-1NC) stepped in with 15 days until the fight on February 10 at Rod Laver Arena.

“I got three names and I just went with the biggest and best fighter I could,” Crute (9-0) said.

“The other two were more unknown and I’m not here to take the easy route.

“I’m going through the hardest guys from the get go.

“He’s got really good power and he’s a great power puncher and counter puncher.”

Alvey is a dangerous customer, winning seven of his last 10 bouts, but Crute is adamant he is not concerned by the latest turn of events.

“The only thing that changes is I have to move to my left and throw my punches three inches lower,” Crute said.

“They’re both dangerous. I couldn’t afford to make a mistake with Ryan Spann and I can’t afford to make a mistake with Sam Alvey, so it doesn’t matter.”

Controversial UFC star Colby Covington did not get the welterweight title fight he wanted against Tyron Woodley, despite being the No. 1 contender, and it’s fair to say he is not taking it well.

The 30-year-old, who has never had a problem voicing his displeasure on any topic, be it “nerds” or those who disagree with US President Donald Trump, rounded on UFC boss Dana White in a series of interviews, calling him a “piece of s**t” along the way.

He also claimed White is ignoring his calls and that the UFC needs Covington more than he needs the MMA organisation.

“I don’t really have a relationship with Dana White,” Covington told MMAjunkie Radio.

“He’s cashing out. He made all the money off the fans, all the fans that built this sport, and they sold for $4 billion. And the reason the sport even is what it is because of (former UFC CEO) Lorenzo (Fertitta).

“So Dana hasn’t even done anything. He was just Lorenzo’s little check boy. He holds his coat for him and stuff. Dana’s already cashed out. He got all that money, and he let it get to his head. He’s a piece of s**t person, and he has no morals or values.”

filmywap

What Covington is seething over stems back to being stripped of the interim UFC welterweight title when he was out for nose surgery and that he didn’t get a title fight with Woodley, who he claims has repeatedly avoided a fight with him.

Woodley, however, disputed that fact and claims the opposite is true. He’ll now face Kamaru Usman for the official piece of UFC gold at UFC 235 in March — a match-up that has infuritated Covington.

“Dana White has lied to me, UFC has lied to me,” Covington told Ariel Helwani on ESPN.

“They made promises to me that I was going to fight Tyron Woodley in November, in Madison Square Garden.

“They made promises to me that I was going to fight him in January, in California. Then all of a sudden I’m getting passed up for a guy (Kamaru Usman) behind me. It’s not even a guy fans want to see. If anything, Dana and UFC are sh**ting on the fans.”

Covington also dared White to release him from his contract.

“Dana White’s out in the media saying, ‘Colby’s not taking the fights, we don’t allow that in the UFC. He can go fight somewhere else,’” Covington said.

“So what I’m saying is, ‘OK, Dana. Let’s see if you’re a man of your balls. Let’s see if you’re a man of your word. Let’s see if you can stick to what you say. You said you don’t allow that in the UFC? Alright. I’m testing you, motherf***er’. Let’s see how big your balls are. Release me, b***h.”

The 30-year-old claimed the UFC’s interim welterweight belt after defeating Rafael dos Anjos by unanimous decision at UFC 225 in June. He has won 14 of his 15 professional fights, his only blemish occurring in 2015 in a submission loss to Warley Alves.

Usman (14-1) has won 13 fights in a row. He most recently defeated dos Anjos on November 30 by unanimous decision.

Woodley has not lost since 2014. He claimed the belt by beating Robbie Lawler by first-round KO in 2016 and has yet to relinquish it.

“This is the blockbuster main event at welterweight,” Covington said.

“This has been brewing for such a long time, since I first trained at ATT and was beating his a**e. He knows that deep down. He can lie to the media, he can lie to the people. He can’t lie to himself or his coaches.”

Asked by Helwani for a final message to the promotion, Covington closed with this.

“F**k you, UFC.”

Covington has embraced the role of MMA villain in recent years.

In this past year alone, Covington called Brazilian fans “filthy animals” after a fight at UFC Sao Paulo. He criticised female fighters for their physical appearance and had a boomerang thrown at his head in Australia by fellow fighter Fabricio Werdum.

'Irani Scheduling Not Right' - Domestic Stalwarts

Want to get more information about live cricket score? Read this article now: 'Irani Scheduling Not Right' - Domestic Stalwarts

live cricket score Winners of the premier first-class competition taking on the best of the rest - the Irani Cup has all the makings of a blockbuster competition on paper. But how relevant is it in reality? The arrival of the Indian Premier League and the emergence of ‘A’ tours have taken some sheen off the competition, with questions asked about its relevance and scheduling.

Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad feels the Irani Cup should be a curtain-raiser to the domestic season, and not be played at the end of the season as is the case now. Former India batsman Pravin Amre, who held the record for most runs in an Irani innings (246) from 1991 to 2012, says things are fine as they are now.

Mumbai legend Amol Muzumdar is open to the idea of using the Irani Cup as a floater, and says it can regain its lost importance if it’s scheduled before the first Test in the home season. CricketNext brings to you the different viewpoints:

Venkatesh Prasad

Irani Cup should have a fixed date:

It was wonderful to play the Irani Cup. I have been part of both the Karnataka team as well as Rest of India team, also led both of these teams. Most of the time I played in Irani Cup, it was the beginning of the season. There should be some tournament that should be big enough to call it the curtain-raiser for the domestic season.

live cricket scoreSource: Twitter/Kings XI Punjab

I don’t know what’s happening now honestly. I would always like a big enough match to kick off the season and there’s nothing bigger than the Irani Cup — defending champions of Ranji Trophy facing off against the best that this country have to offer. When you have a big match at the start of season, you can have it on a fixed date like October 1 or 2. There should be a fixed date. You can’t be changing that to the whims and fancies of officials. Everybody should be looking forward to the start of the Irani Cup on a fixed date and also everyone should be keeping themselves fit for this match.

Current scheduling not fair on Ranji Champions:

It is not fair on the Ranji Trophy champions as well. They have been crowned champions just a few days back and they are still enjoying the high of winning the biggest domestic prize of the season. But now they have to turn out for Irani Cup in less than a week’s time.

A cricketer should be able to adapt to different formats. That’s why we had Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali T20, etc. I know there is a World Cup coming up and it’s understandable then having the Deodhar just a couple of months before that. That should be the last tournament to play this season. But now we are playing the T20 tournament because we want the players want to prepare for the IPL. People need to put mind into figuring out all of these things.

How can you sideline a Duleep Trophy or an Irani Cup if the number of matches have been increased in Ranji Trophy due to more teams? There is a history behind all these tournaments. You can’t just change history like that. People have played for India based on their performances in the Irani Cup. Former India captain Anil Kumble was picked for the Indian team after they performed in the Irani Cup.

Pravin Amre

My experience of Irani Cup:

Irani Cup is always special and dear to me, I can never forget it in my life because that was the reason I got my India cap (in 1992 against South Africa). The Irani Cup performance (in 1990-91 against Bengal) started my career and I got into the team. It was very very close to my heart. I prepared for years to play the Irani Trophy match.

Coming to that game (in 1990-91), we lost the toss in Bangalore. It was overcast and the match started after lunch because of the rain. We were 137 for 3. Eventually, me and Ravi Shastri got double hundreds, we declared on 737 for 7. We won that convincingly. After that in the next year also I got a hundred against Haryana. I think I have the highest average in Irani trophy.

live cricket scoreSource: BCCI

To me, it was an important tournament as in those days there were no India A matches. The Irani Trophy was very important to get into the Indian team and that's exactly what happened.  I held on to the record for many years before Murali Vijay broke that in 2012. Eventually coming in that situation and getting 246 was very special. It probably helped me in getting a hundred on debut in Durban, when we were 38 for 4.

Relevance of Irani Cup now

It's always going to be important, especially to the team that wins the Ranji Trophy. The guys get an extra opportunity to perform. I'm very happy for the Vidarbha boys, it's going to be a good game. Guys like (Aditya) Sarwate, (Akshay) Wakhare, their tally will be better and the performance will count.

The scheduling is debatable. Sometimes players are not available the next year, they get injured so whatever is the situation right now, I think it's good. The current scheduling is right. The guys have a settled XI and they also have momentum. I personally feel what's happening right now is a good thing.  Sometimes rains also start early and timings won’t work out well as there are very restricted venues. Going to neutral venues don't work sometimes.

Time to make it a day-night game?

Pink ball is already used in the Duleep Trophy, which is a league and has multiple matches. Irani is a one-off game, let it remain this way. The traditional things should be continued. We played with a red ball, let them also play with a red ball!

Amol Muzumdar

Irani Cup…then and now

It was a different ball game then because the Irani Trophy was something really really relevant in my time. I'm not saying it's not relevant now at all. But the sheen has gone off a little bit purely because there are so many A tours, there are so many IPL matches that are telecast. Obviously what mattered in Irani trophy then is not the same now. Times have changed. Earlier, it was a be all and end all scenario. If you score in Irani Trophy, you were ready for the next level.

What’s the perfect schedule for Irani Cup? Maybe use it as a floater depending on the season’s schedule?

I have always been a firm believer. People talk about scrap this, scrap that. I'm not a believer in that. Every tournament has its own value and charm. It's just about scheduling it correctly. I have been an absolute firm believer in when and what needs to be scheduled has to be top priority. If you do that, everything else will fall in place. It's only about getting priorities and scheduling right.

live cricket scoreSource: Twitter

Floating would be a little too much but you never know, you can't discount anything. Maybe it can happen just before a Test series unfolds. Generally, there is a Test series in India every year, this is an odd year when we've toured South Africa, England and Australia. Before the Test series, if we can schedule the Irani Trophy, then the relevance and importance will be evident.

Is there a risk of Rest of India players using the game purely for individual goals?

Even then and even now, it all depends on the captain. If you have a strong captain, then all these things don't matter. I remember an Irani Trophy led by Anil Kumble in 1997. Nobody dared to go haywire. It all depends on who was the captain. If he inculcates certain work and team ethics during the five days, then everything else is in place. If you have a captain who can slack off a little, then things can go haywire a little.

Report: McGregor's next opponent set

Conor McGregor will fight UFC legend Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in his next fight, according to expert Brendan Schaub.

The Notorious, who is currently suspended, is set for a hearing by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after the ugly brawl that marred the aftermath of his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in December.

But former UFC star Schaub claims UFC president Dana White and the powers that be have already decided who they want the Irishman to face next.

Schaub, who fought ten times in UFC, said on his Below the Belt podcast McGregor only has to sign the contract to make the deal happen.

“(Someone who) could not get closer to the situation told me that the Donald Cerrone-Conor McGregor fight was offered, that’s the plan and they’re waiting for Conor to sign the contract.

“It’s up to Conor if he wants that as his next fight,” Schaub said.

“I know from a legit source close to the situation that that is the fight they want to do.

“It’s up to Conor McGregor if he decides to sign the contract or not. But that fight, from what I’m told, has been offered.”

Earlier this month, Cerrone had teased fans on social media when he posted a mock up of him alongside McGregor with the caption: “Just waiting on him! I know a guy.”

Dana White denied the rumours in the days after Cerrone’s post.

“That’s not true, absolutely not true. Obviously that’s the fight that Cowboy Cerrone wants but that’s not true,” he said.

“We haven’t even thought about an opponent for either one of those guys yet — meaning Khabib or Conor.

“We’re not even thinking about it, it’s not even worth talking about because we don’t know how long the suspensions going to be, what fines it’s going to be, we don’t know the penalties yet.”

But Schaub believes White will definitely have thought about his who his two biggest fighters will face next.

“When (Dana White) says they haven’t thought of an opponent for either Khabib or Conor, that’s not true either,” Schaub said.

“For Khabib it’s Tony Ferguson, for Conor it’s Donald Cerrone.”
