Johnny Walker is a famous name and one that has been associated with plenty of early nights, but on Sunday it was for an entirely different reason.
Making his debut in the UFC was Johnny Walker the fighter, not the bottle of alcohol. Both however have a similar impact.
Going up against Khalil Rountree, Walker proved far too dominant from the outset and even openly taunted his opponent. Showing he wasn’t overwhelmed by his first fight in the Ocatgon.
A head kick followed up big a left hand and Walker moved in for the kill as his rival struggled to regain his composure.
As the two clinched it was Walker who landed move devastating blows and a hellacious elbow put an end to proceedings as Rountree crumbled to the canvas.
Before the referee could put an end to the fight, Walker landed two more crushing blows as his opponent laid on the mat with his lights out.
Fans watching on couldn’t believe the brutality that had just unfolded with a climb up the light-heavyweight standings expected.
His stunning display not only earned him the knockout win, but saw him heading home with an extra $50,000 in his wallet after earning the performance of the night.
Ricardo Lamas showed why he’s a force to be reckoned with in the Octagon as he completely dismantled his opponent Darren Elkins.
A fight that stretched deep into the third and final round, Lamas finally got the better of his rival with some terrifying ground and pound.
As the two fighters continued to trade blows throughout the entirety of the bout, it was in the final 90 seconds when Lamas took control.
Lamas landed the perfect takedown and began landing powerful elbows that had his opponent in a world of pain. But it was devastating hammer fists that forced the referee to call an end to the fight with less than a minute to go.
The co-main event turned into a bloodbath as both were opened up early with the savage finish earning praise from fellow fighters.
