Uri: The Surgical Strike Box Office Collection Day 10: Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam Starrer Enters the Rs 100 Crore Club
Currently, there is no stopping Uri: The Surgical Strike at the Indian box office. The Aditya Dhar directorial, starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam in the lead, is faring so well that the film has already crossed Rs 100 crore mark in India which is absolutely fantastic. What's even more interesting is that Uri has achieved this feat in just 10 days. The military drama released on January 11 and garnered not-so-great reviews. However, Vicky's terrific performance didn't go unnoticed and was praised by the critics. As for the audience, well, they are showering their love on the film and the box office figures are the testimony to that fact. As per BollywoodHungama, on its second Sunday, Uri continued its golden run at the BO and ended up minting Rs 15 crore, bringing its total 10-day collection to Rs 106.84 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also took to microblogging site Twitter just a while back and wrote, "And #Uri crosses ₹ 100 cr... Sure, ₹ 100 cr is *not* the yardstick to gauge the success of a film, but it should be celebrated when mid-sized films like #SKTKS, #Raazi, #Stree, #BadhaaiHo and #UriTheSurgicalStrike hit century... Though Emraan Hashmi starrer Why Cheat India and few more films released on Friday, January 18, none of them managed to do well at the box office courtesy Uri's success at the ticket windows. So far Vicky and Yami's film, which has already been declared a superhit, has had a smooth ride at the BO without facing any stiff competition. However, with Kangana Ranaut's much-hyped film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi releasing this Friday, things could slow down for the military drama. But at the moment, it seems Uri is indeed unstoppable.
